How do I tell my daughter she's too fat to be a cheerleader?

She's 5'2 and 155. She wants to be a Tumblr. She's going to cause an Earthquake.

I was a cheerleader... I wore the size 12/14 cheer uniform. But I was a third.

Tell her you want to help her get in shape for tryouts then work with her. She's young, the weight shouldn't be too difficult to get off.

Shame on you.  Her mother should not be tearing her down.  If she wants to try out let her.

Um...she's NOT too fat. In fact, being in cheer leading will help her tone up. She's on the heavier side according to bmi but that doesn't account for muscle tone. I was 5ft and 140 as a teen but I had a lot of muscle tone. Don't pass your own complexes on to her.

Cheer leading has changed a lot. There are girls and boys of all sizes these days.

Let her try out. There are big girls who cheer. There was a girl in my high school who was really large. She tried out and made it. She had a lot of spirit and was high energy loud voice and could do the physical stuff also.
Problem came when it was time to get uniforms. You get sized in front of everyone. They did not have a uniform her size. Some mean girls laughed. She was pulled aside later and told she would not be on the team due to not being able to fit the uniform.
I am sure they could have ordered her size, but they did not. It was sad.
Let her try it will either be yes or no.
