My baby is broken!

My 7 year fell down the stairs at school today and broke her arm and wrist.

She is so swollen. She's in a temp cast until she sees ortho again next week. We're hoping she doesn't need surgery.

She's upset she will miss out on volleyball now.

Poor kiddo.

Did they x-ray it and see if she needs pins?  Weird that she won't see the ortho for a week if her arm and her wrist is broken.

Yes. They xrayed.

It's not weird. She's only in a temp cast because they'll think she swell more.

It's not weird. They want to wait on the swelling

It's not weird. They have to wait for the swelling to go down.

It is extremely weird, I agree. I'm guessing that she lives in a small town. It must not have gone through her growth plate.

No. It is not weird. And I live in a large city. Went to a children's hospital. They know what they're doing.

Did it go through her growth plate or not?
