What would you charge someone to watch their 4 year old 9 hrs a day 4 days a week?

it is so different place to place.

Here sitters are 15-20/hr

25.00/day.

Hourly rates should be illegal. Most people don’t make what sitters charge an hour.

I give my sitter 35 a day for two kids

I paid $26 a day when I utilized FT home Daycare for one child.

No less than $360/week.
If the days change from week to week (like, M-TH one week, W-Sa the next, etc), I would ask for more. Four days a week sounds easy, but if the schedule changes I wouldn't be able to hold down a part-time position elsewhere.

That's less than in-home daycares charge around here.
Your inability to draw a decent income does not mean the people caring for your children do not deserve reasonable compensation.

$150 a week is what I charge.
