We wont be celebrating Christmas this year...

Well at least not in December. We usually have two Christmas celebrations- one in July and one in December.

This year we had a great Christmas in July. The kids got a lot of cool things. We decided instead of doing it again that we are just going to take a nice summer vacation instead of doing the whole Christmas thing. The kids have a lot of time off in December so we are renting a house boat and be spending most of their summer break on the lake.

My parents are not happy about it  but they will get over it.

I am so excited and so are the kids!

That's ridiculous.

Christmas is actually December 25th, not a day in July.

Furthermore, if you want to celebrate twice, at least peg the summer celebration to the solstice (which is why Christmas so close to the winter solstice) - that would put it in June, not July.

The boat is at the Sunshine coast.
