My middle school bff (20yrs) calls me out of the blue yesterday. We don't talk often because she lies about her drug addiction and she has 4 bio kids whom she has put thru hell.... Her oldest dd was sent to live with BD parents states away 2 middle dd's adopted thru foster care because youngest born with METH in her system... Youngest DD is with mom... I thought she was clean and doing great.... Until she called me yesterday and said she needs me to take custody of her youngest dd a 3 yo...... I talked to DH and we decided that it is something we are going to do but ONLY if she signs over gaurdianship... BUT I am super stressed about this... I have tried calling my friend and she has turned her phone off.... She is getting or was getting high!!! I don't really know what it is that I need from you ladies... Im just freaking out...  We have to drive 6 hours to get her.... Whenever her mom calls me.... ugh fucking meth man I swear!!!

I'm being honest when I say I would have nothing to do with any of that.

Why not call the police in her jurisdiction to do a welfare check?

If it weren't for an innocent 3yo living in a trap house with meth addicts, I wouldn't. But this is my God Daughter and I feel like I have to do this to save her from her mother.... I raised her oldest dd as well. I actually got in a relationship I KNEW was unsafe to protect the now 10yo when she was also 3yo... I was beaten and verbally attacked almost daily but she was safe and that is all that mattered at the time... When I was finally able to get out of the relationship she was with mom and mom was clean and stable...

Because all I know of where she is, is a possible city she might still be in. Until I hear from her again this is literally all I know. I just don't think I can NOT do this. I've been going back and forth with myself since 3pm yesterday when she called.

Call that city’s police department. They may have her in the system already with an address. Couldn’t hurt to try.

I'd only do it is she signed over custody but I honestly don't think I could do it at all. You're an amazing person.
