If you are 16 or younger, are unmarried and have a baby should you be allowed to keep that baby? Most likely you will be on every type of public assistance available. Most likely you are from a low SES background. You probably will not finish school and will end up in public housing. You will always have a minimum wage job and remain on assistance your entire life. You are probably a 2nd or 3rd generation teen mom.Give the child a chance to not end up like you and choose adoption!

I’m sure that many teens who have babies have support from their families & adoption isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be. I think that’s a decision the mother should be making.

Why not? People give baby showers and think nothing is wrong with it, then question why no one has morals any more.

Every woman who gets pregnant should get to decide how to handle it without threat or coercion. If teen moms had more familial support and encouragement to finish school (HS and college), maybe all of that wouldn't have to happen.

So would abandoning the pregnant teenager and not supporting them make everything better? Would it make them be able to go back in time and make better choices?

My cousin was 15 when she got pregnant. She definitely wasn't married. She didn't marry the father of the baby until she turned 18. She finished high school online so she could take care of her baby. Then, when her child was in school, she took local college classes. She came from a low-income family. By 25 she owned her own business with a large clientale. Now, she owns 4 stores and doesn't have to work in any of them (she does from time to time, but she doesn't have to). She has 3 children and they have loads of money and those kids don't want for anything, they have all they need and pretty much all they want, as well.

Maybe if people would stop glorifying it and tell the chick she has to support her own kid, might deter them in the future.
