Really DH? You are lazy!!!!

I came home from work and made a nice marinara for spaghetti. DH got home late so I fed the kids at 7pm. I left the sauce on low and made extra pasta.

DS struggled with his homework and DH tried to help but all he really did was made DS feel dumb. Anyway, DH and DS were pissy with each other. I clean up the kitchen, putting the sauce away.

I finally get the kids to bed and DH gets nasty with me about how he has not eaten and how he is hungry. He makes a series of snide comments.

Freaking A- all his lazy ass has to do is heat the pasta and sauce... or grab something from the freezer. I have like a dozen Amy’s dinners in there. Or reheat an empanada from last night.

Now he went to bed “hungry” and not speaking to me.

Lazy and childish. I don't understand how being with an asshole is better than being alone.

I am so glad I have a dh that is self sufficient. He wouldn't make snide remarks either.

Why didn't he eat when the sauce and pasta were on the stove?

So - he came home late, and instead of eating - helped your son with his homework (fairly late).  Why hadn't you been helping him earlier?  Why didn't your husband eat when he came in?

I’m in the habit I always make my husband a plate when he’s working late. He works swings and over nights. If not I’ll put it containers in the fridge and he’ll grab them.

Did you ask him if he planned to eat before putting it away?
