Teachers are low income

I was talking to a fellow teacher about the struggle of buying a house. She mentioned hoping the market would crash since she barely can afford rent. Im dealing with the same thing. A third person overheard and suggested we look into the new low income condos they were building in a neighboring city (and not a good area). We were excited and asked if she knew what they were starting at... $500k. For a 2 bed condo:/

Yeah, it's hard. Are you the only income for your family?

I too think teachers should make more money. I wouldn't exactly say they are "low income" though. I guess it would depend on your school and area, col.

Yes, why wouldn’t they be. They are equivalent to babysitters now. They don’t teach. They hand out work and have the parents teach it. That is why a lot of these kids are stupid today. The parents don’t know that crap. They have changed so much stuff since most of these parents were in school themselves. Kids would be better off learning on a computer program rather than a human person.

It will only get worse if chump gets his way with the tax reform changes he wants.  Families earning less than $75,K a year will pay more.  We can barely make it as it is.  We will probably have to file bankruptcy and move.

I work as a waitress in an upscale restaurant now. I make far more than I ever did teaching.
