My babysitter is charging me $1400 for things my kids have supposedly destroyed... that she never informed me of, and I told her to stop giving my kids soda and candy unless she intends to let them play outside because it makes them hyper and hyper kids locked indoors is a bad idea.

I offered to replace the one thing she told me of that my 2yo damaged. The babysitter handed my 2yo scissors and DD cut the hose on the vacuum after the babysitter went into another room.

I hope she isn't your babysitter after giving your 2 year old scissors.

I should note, that if my children destroy something, I have no issue replacing it, but I feel she needs to tell me if something gets damaged, not wait and then say "oh by the way, you owe me $1400" when I have no idea anything even got damaged.

Sugar doesn't make kids hyper. If my babysitter gave my 2 year old scissors I'd be reporting her. She would be the ex babysitter.

Well if your kid destroyed things, you need to replace them.  End of story, sorry.

As a daycare provider, I am responsible for keeping kids away from things. That's what I'm paid for. If not why are they paying me? She's crazy.
