Which is more effective? Is it even worth doing a crunch?

I've been able to cause some serious burn doing a crunch. Both can be effective. On my crunches I focus on pulling my belly button in towards the floor and keeping my core tight the entire time. Sit ups, same thing. Focus on a tight core. I can feel crunches working a slightly different area than sit ups. There are other really awesome core exercises that will do great things too.

Do both! Work on some squats, too.

Planks, including side planks are more effective than either of those.

Leg lifts are also more effective for toning the stomach area than either of those.

Neither. Both create bulky abs a descreased hourglass figure. Planks or leg lifts are better
