When do you lay out the turkey?

I don't think it will fit in my fridge yet. A chicken takes a good 2 days to thaw in the fridge. I need to lay the turkey out huh? Maybe the day before I put in the sink to finish thawing? I've cooked before but it was years ago.

My turkey has been in the fridge since last Thursday, but i'ts a 22 lb bird so it will take a while to thaw completely in the fridge.

Go on the Butterball website for thawing instructions.

I put mine in the refrigerator yesterday - 15 lb.  It takes more than 2 days.  And I would NEVER defrost it outside the refrigerator.

We pulled the turkey out to thaw yesterday. But we plan on putting it in a brine for 24 hours before we put it in the smoker Thursday.

You should never thaw in the sink!!!!  It needs to completely thaw in the fridge for about 3-4 days and none outside of the fridge due to bacteria.
