Do you just get through them and grin and bear it or has there ever been a time that you just stop doing them?

I don't have anyone in my life that I hate getting together with.

The only people I'll grin and bear for are my sister because it makes my dad happy and my mother because even though she drives me nuts she's my mom and she loves ds and lives for him.

I don’t do obligatory get togethers. If I don’t want to go somewhere, I just don’t.

I don't have any. If I don't want to go, I don't go.

Life is to short for that.

I only go of if I want to. There is no such thing as obligatory get togethers

I don't consider any get togethers obligatory.  If I don't want to go, I don't.

Then you have never been through one before. Lol! Going to a get together because you feel like you *have* to because it's Christmas or some type of other holiday or event but you don't enjoy certain people's company since they are rude/uppity/bitchy/negative, etc.

I go for my kids but I don't enjoy being around those certain people. I know my kids would be sad if I stayed home.
