$300 to fix something I didn't even want??

My daughter's school makes the children have and use ipads. We told the school that we didn't want her to have an iPad. When they said she had no choice but to use it for homework, we asked if there was an insurance policy we could purchase. Nope. We asked if she could just keep it at home where we could monitor her usage. Nope. We asked if we could take off their case and use a lifeproof case that we would purchase. Nope. (Their case is locked on so the kids can't remove them.)

Her school also has a policy against backpacks being used in classrooms. I kid you not - they are told to use zipper binders and carry everything in the binders. So she has to keep her notebooks, pens, pencils, etc for all her morning classes in her binder. This also means she is carrying her binder, books, and iPad in her arms from class to class.

She cracked the damn screen. She was bumped in the hallway and it fell. Now it's going to apparently take $300 to repair or replace the screen. This is EXACTLY why I didn't want her to have a f*cking ipad.

Just a vent. Frustrated beyond frustration.

You aren't the 1st parent to pay for a cracked screen.

It's gonna be OK.

I never said anything to the contrary. Regardless, it is still a frustrating situation.

That's where my mind is right now. It's ridiculous that they make your child use an expensive piece of equipment but offer no insurance option.
