She's offended by my parenting.

My mom is 71. I'm 26. She seriously gets offended by my parenting. If I do something different from her, she gets offended and irritated. Like breastfeeding and no foods until 6 months or when they are ready after 6 months old. She formula fed and gave us rice cereal in the bottles and baby food right away. She gets offended if I don't come ask her for advice. Why would I? We parent very differently. I just can't believe she gets offended. I tried talking to her and said we both did/do what we think is best for our kids and she said I offended her! How stupid!

If it bothers you that much then stop going over there.

Well first of she's kind of a bad parent to have kids that late in life.

I think its because you're coming off like you think that you know more than her.

Having kids in your 40's does NOT make you a bad parent

My mother was the same way. I'm 34 and she would be 64 this year. The rest of my siblings all follow her lead but I just didn't feel it was best.

She feels like by doing things differently you're implying that she did them wrong. You'll both get through this.

How? Because we do things differently?

Quoting Anonymous 4: I think its because you're coming off like you think that you know more than her.
