I gave birth to a set of twins by emergency C-section late last night. My husband called his mom and let her know what was happening but told her do not bring granddaughter. The hospital has restricted visitors. No one under 12 in patient rooms or waiting rooms due to the flu. What does she do? She immediately drives 4 hours with her 3 yo granddaughter and wanted her and granddaughter to see the babies. She got here and talked to my husband and a nurse who told her the same thing. No visitors under 12. Mil asked dh to wait with granddaughter in the car so she could see the babies. Dh told her no. That in order to get into the NICU a parent has to escort you so he couldn't babysit granddaughter and I wasn't allowed to leave my room yet due to some blood pressure issues. So nothing could be done. Well she stomped out and sent a barrage of nasty texts telling me that I'm a fucking pussy bitch and should burn in hell for treating his family that way. What the hell did I do? I just had surgery and my BP is through the roof. Her texts aren't making that situation any better. I told my nurses that the only person I wanted visiting me was my husband and not another soul.

Block her number and forget about her. Focus on getting well and on your babies, deal with her later.

Why does she think that rules don't apply to her?

Sorry, she's an IDIOT! She could have asked to text pictures or something so granddaughter could still see them, but they will get the chance to meet anyway!

She has no one to blame but herself for making a rash decision (sorry, no pun intended!).

I find it hard to believe she's that horrible unless this behavior isn't new? It boggles me the stories I hear on cm lol.

What a ridiculous hospital policy I never would have delivered there.  So glad my hospital was reasonable.

Wait...your husbands mother sent you texts cursing you out calling you a “fucking pussy bitch” hours after you gave birth to twins? If that’s true I hope your DH called her and told her he would never be seeing her again.

I'm so sorry she's being so evil. I agree, block her and focus on taking care of yourself and the babies.

I didn't really have a choice but most of our local hospitals are like this during a flu outbreak. No one under 12 and it's always no one under 12 in the NICU. So granddaughter would have never been allowed in there
