Okay so my dh is out of town so I asked my bff if her and her three kids wanted to go with me and my 3 kids to an event and I would pay. So it’s the morning of and she tells me her dh wants to come too and he will just pay his own ticket. I thought that wasn’t cool at all that she told him yes.

I mean if my dh were going then I would have asked her whole family, but I told her we’re going because my dh is out of town and I’m bored. Am I being ridiculous?’

No, when I relieve an invite, I clarify before inviting others.

What's the event?

I can see both sides of this. You probably are overreacting but I can see disappointment since it was supposed to be just you and your friend.

I'm on the fence.

if her husband is going, he can pay for his whole family. the reason you invited her was to keep you company, now its like her family thing and you're just there.

I don't think you are. She should have asked you first.

Is she the type of person who isn't able to do anything without hubby? I know two women like that and it's annoying as hell.

Exactly how I feel! It’s not a cheap event, it’s 20$ per person. I feel like he just wants a free family outing.
