So the fire department showed up today

I posted a couple months ago about living in an apartment and someone calling the office about us using our grill on the balcony.

EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE NOT EVER GRILLED AT THIS COMPLEX LET ALONE ON THE BALCONY

The office called me to warn me that it’s against fire code regulations to grill on the balcony and I explained we never did.

I took some of your advice and we got a cover for the grill and we actually sold the propane tanks so there’s no way we could be accused of grilling on the balcony.

We allowed dust and leaves to pile up on the cover to further show we haven’t used the grill.

So today the fire department knocked on our door and asked if we were grilling. Dh told them no, and in fact he was in the kitchen cooking. He offered to let them touch the grill to prove we weren’t grilling and the guy declined but just warned us we couldn’t grill on our patio.

I don’t understand why we are being harassed when the flipping cop that lives here grills on his second floor balcony several times a freaking week!

We just moved in, we’ve done nothing to attract unwanted attention. We don’t have dogs that bark, nor kids that run up and down the halls. We don’t blast loud music or tv.

We’ve lived in apartments before and never once have we ever had a complaint against us.

He lives in a different building or I’d think that.

Put it in storage or sell it

No.

We aren’t paying for storage and we have no intentions of selling it.

Just put the grill elsewhere.  Problem solved.  You're not grilling out there anyway.

Maybe somebody's calling on the police officer.  They have to respond, so they ring your bell instead.

Don't text while driving.
