It's food in a backpack given to the kids on a Friday so they have food until school starts again on Monday.

It's a good program, I volunteer to help pack the backpacks in our area.

I heard about it years ago. Oddly enough, I always thought it was a PARENT'S job to feed their kids. Now they don't have to feed them breakfast or lunch each weekday, or weekend meals either. So, why don't poor parents have enough money to feed their kids on weekends if they don't have to buy or pay for breakfast and lunch every schoolday? Plus of course there are the summer  programs where kids get lunch every day.
