Huge milestone, I broke down and cried!

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

My 4 year old son says very little, he is in Speech Therapy, Sensory Therapy, Behavior Therapy.  What few words he does say, people seldom understand him, which leads to him getting frustrated and he reacts by hitting himself.

Tonight I told him to go upstairs and play in his room, I said, "see you later alligator".  He said, "I not alligator, I Gabriel".

I'm tearing up typing this.  We are making headway!!! I'm so happy!

Awesome!!!  The first thing I understood that my son said was "pumpkin pie" he was 3.  I was driving and talking o him in the back seat when he said it.  I pulled the car over, turned around and looked at him and said "did you say pumpkin pie?"  he nodded yes and I cried.  I remember the first time he said "I love you", he was 5.  You will never foret this, my son is 16 now and I remember like it was yesterday.
