We moved 30 minutes from my hometown

I was born and raised in my hometown. I lived there for 28 years, never anywhere else.

Well we just moved to a new town and I hate it. I hate not knowing the short cuts or alternate routes. I hate that I have to use my GPS to go everywhere.

I don’t hate the town or our house but not being familiar with a town just isn’t what I’m used to. I know I’ll get used to it eventually. It just sucks right now!

It just takes some time and getting used to. When we first moved here I felt the same way but now I love it

It probably won't take long. ☺

You’ll get used to it. It will just take some time. Give it a chance.

I’ve moved to four states as an adult and more cities. You always adjust.

Sounds like you're making a bigger deal out of it than it really is. Calm down.

Find the town hall as a start.  Take a look at the bulletins on the walls because that will give you an idea of what kind of activities are in your town.  Wait til the kids go to school, and go explore.

28 years in the same place... Wow. Can't imagine.

Hopefully you'll learn your way around quickly.

I live in a very high COL market. When my dh and I bought a home we had to move to the outskirts of our area to afford a home. It’s about 35 miles from where I grew up too.

One day there was bad traffic on the freeway so I got off and took some backroads to our house. For some reason the familiarity and ease of knowing how to circumvent bad traffic in new area made me realize I had a new home town. It I’ll happen for you too.

I couldn't do it. I tried to move out of state and hardly lasted three months. I can't be away from my family.
