Why don't pro-life people adopt unwanted babies?

I was talking to my friend who finalized her second adoption and we got talking about the other adoptive families she's met over the years.

She mentioned how they all have similar interests and lifestyles and how it's nice to connect with like-minded people who have also adopted children from the foster care system.

One of the things she mentioned that she found strange is that she hasn't met any pro-life families yet, in all the years she's been going to support groups for adoptive families. Everyone she's gotten to know are all pro-choice.

You'd think that adoptive families would be mostly pro-lifers.

I mentioned to her that I remember reading a survey done back in the early 2000s that showed lifestyles of adoptive families in America and the vast majority were pro-choice (the rest of the survey talked about most common income, geographical locations, homeschool vs public, religioud beliefs, etc)...

Anyway, the conversation was an interesting one and I thought I'd bring it here.

If you adopted a child, are you pro-life or pro-choice?

Pro choice, and I agree. I've yet to see one pro-lifer adopt. I'm sure they have, but I've never met one.

Because pro-livers don't give a shit about babies after they're born.

I don't think they really care about babies before they're born either. They just want want to be in control.

A question I ask often.

Of the people I know who have adopted, that I know well enough to also know their stance on pro-life/pro-choice....  2 of the families are very much pro-life... the other, pro-choice.

I am pro something else. I am against abortion but I’m also against other people telling someone how to use their body.

At the end of the day I would prefer nobody ever choose abortion again. But I don’t want to take that choice away from others.

So I want to be pro life. But at the same time I don’t want to be. Because I dunno.

I’m pro confused.

But I absolutely WOULD adopt a child that needed a family. No matter the circumstances. If I felt I could provide a better life for that child.

Because most of them are pro fetus, not pro baby.
