If you were sexually abused growing, up please answer the following questions:

1. By who?
2. How old were you?
3. Did you tell? If not, why? If yes, how did that work out?
4. Have you been in therapy to deal w the trauma? Was it helpful?
5. Do you have a happy romantic relationship/sex life currently?
6. Also any red flags you can share w others about sexual predators?

Thank you. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’œ I'm studying to be a counselor and specialize in sexual trauma. I am sorry for your pain.

My dad.

Started when I hit puberty. Told CPS and my mom, mom didn't believe me, CPS didn't feel it was as awful bc there was no penetration and he was sneaky about it.

Yes I have been in therapy to deal with that abuse, physical and mental/emotional abuse, to include the abuse I suffered from my ex. Yes therapy is helpful once I found one I connect with.

My husband have been happily married 15yrs, sometimes my past creeps up and he handles it all with love and grace.

No, why would I joke about it? It was back in 1987.

At 8 years old he was my mother's boyfriend.  I told my mother.  I became afraid of the dark from that point on.

At 17 I was molested by my older sister's husband.  I told no one.

I attempted therapy a couple of times but refused to speak about things. So of couse it wasn't helpful at all.

I've been married for many years.  I was thankful and reliefed when my dh's health issues preventing him from having sex.
