friday night I did my random phone check on my 12 year olds phone. The reason she has a phone is there are days I am a little late getting home so I call her to let her know when I will be home. I found a bunch of texts dated within the last couple days talking to a boy from a chat site. The rules she has to follow are:

1 no using your text app to talk to anyone other then mom and dad

2 no inappropriate lauange or pictures

3 no calling anyone other then the contacts I put in to her phone

4 no sending any pictures to anyone online even in a chatting app

when I saw the messages turns out she broke all 4 within the last 4 days. The boy she was talking to is not 14 but a 39 year old man in Arizona. He was asking for pictures of her naked for his birthday thank god I checked her phone on Friday before she did it.

She has been calling him at night when I thought she was sleeping. She has sent pics and talking about running away to have sex with him and talking about sucking him off. On her chat site I found a ton of anime porn pictures .

right now she is grounded off her phone and any internet access. She is not allowed to be on any electronics.

she has extra chores everyday. But I need help what else can I do to make her realize how dangerous this was. She keeps saying it is no big deal. I already told her she lost all extra/fun activities.

I'd be calling the police and reporting this pervert.

Take the phone and report the pedophile to the police. Easy solution. She doesn’t get a phone, computer or any device that connects to internet until she shows some responsibility.

You should have got her a flip phone or a kids phone and blocked all that. Honestly talk to her about sex and dating I’d bet she’s curious and confused. Maybe sign her up for an after school program and take the phone when she is with you. The big sister association is great too another adult you can both trust. My 11 year old has a phone with 0 restrictions I’ve checked it here and there and no issues I am open and honest with her about life and she is very mature who knows if my 5 year old will be the same at that age.

I am debating on that to try to scare her. The only issue is I don’t really know anyone in Atlanta where I live to help me with that. I also will be going down to the police station first thing tomorrow to see what can be done against this asshole. I took her phone and saved all the texts so I have that as proof.

Add on a 5 page essay on "once it's on the internet, it stays on the internet" for her almost sending pictures.

That sounds like something that could go horribly wrong. Maybe when you are at the police station you could ask if there is a detective that works in human trafficking that can talk to her.
