At what age did your child move to a toddler bed? Why?

Why do you need a toddler bed? They are a complete waste of money. Buy a twin or take the side rail off the crib.

We bought a crib that can be converted to a day bed/toddler bed, but then I found a Little Tykes Firetruck bed at a consignment sale and had to have that cute thing......so we left him in his crib as long as possible.  He never tried to climb out or anything!  I think he was almost 3 when we redecorated his room, painted and changing the bed to the firetruck.  He slept in that for a few years and then moved to a twin bed. He's 15 now and takes up ALL of a queen bed!

Mine was 3 and we just put a twin mattress on the floor. It worked.

His crib turns into a toddler bed. Just trying to decide if it's time to make the switch because he can probably climb out by now.

Make the switch whenever you want. Mine was over 3 years old, I don’t think it really matters.

I switched all 5 of mine when they could climb out of the crib.

Oh, I understand. Well, you would know the best.  As long as he can follow the rules like no escaping to run around at midnight. LOL
