My 6 year old is autistic, and if I don't put her into a cart she'll scream, fight, and run off.

But, I get those looks like she should be walking...

Screw anyone who looks at you like that. If it works for you and your family, and doesn’t hurt others, do it. Who cares what anyone else says.

I say when you're too big to fit in the cart you're too old. Most days I wish someone would push ME in the cart lol.

My dd rode in a cart until she was to big to climb inside. I didn't care what people thought. We had fun shopping and that is all that mattered.

I dont care about age. If I cant lift the child easily to put her/him into the seat......he/she is too big

Oh I would say 15 is too old.  I saw one about that age not long ago. LOL.  You are fine.

FYI a lot of stores have Caroline Carts now which is a cart with a seat big enough for an adult to sit in. Its for disabled bigger kids and teens and adults.

Quoting PJMM: I say when you're too big to fit in the cart you're too old. Most days I wish someone would push ME in the cart lol.

This is your decision. Sometimes my 11 yr old will hop in the back of my costco cart. Like after a soccer game.
