to adult when they become of age? So many women on here let their kids call the shots and shelter them from any unpleasantness that when it is time for them to be on their own they are going to have no idea how to interact with other people. Real life isn't cookie cutter folks, best prepare them for that now.

I think so.
Although my oldest says she is living at home forever.

That’s my goal. I make my kids be accountable and do stuff on there own.

Mines are, they're grown now. Doing quite well. They didn't run over me. I didn't play that shit.

I'd like to think that I am preparing them for life.  However, I cannot predict the future, and  I still have plenty of time to fuck it up. :)

Hope so. I teach my boys how to cook and clean. Even my 4yo knows how to do laundry. We discuss money and realities of life. My oldest is planning on getting his first job when he turns 14 (less than a month from now). They can have cell phones when they can pay for them. They will help build cars to get their first.

Nope.

I've been told several times on here that my kids are going to grow up to be 1-serial killers, or 2-living in my basement the rest of their lives.

4 out of 4 so far. Some needed a little more encouraging, we help financially every now and then. But so far so good.
