Metal detectors are not permitted on the beach there. There is a sign every 10-15 feet stating that-literally! The reason is that the legendary pirate Blackbeard buried hi treasure there. We went on a scuba diving expedition last summer and brought home some '"souvenirs". We found 9 gold coins, some jewels what looks like part of a sword. We never told anyone about this. We plan to go again this summer. Is this our property? Does it belong to Kure Beach? The scuba company?

Do I need to notify the state ? Or just keep my mouth shut?
