Tacky and tasteless, or sexy and refreshingly different? What's your opinion?

She is playing a role, I just think she is original, her clothing choices may be tacky for day to day wear but they fit the character she has created perfectly, the uniqueness of her fashion choices help keep her in the spot light I think she has a brlliant marketing sense.

I would personally never dress that way, but as pp said, she's playing a role, supporting an image, a brand. And I love a strong woman with a LOT of confidence.

ETA: I just saw what she wore to the Grammy's and I thought she looked stupid. It was clearly a publicity stunt and not very well done. Fail.

See now its not her look, I understand that she isn't very sellable naturally, it's the immature, tasteless, and vile lyrics I dislike. I don't need lyrics to send out any strong morals or anything, but when they do the exact opposite while targeted at a teen/preteen female audience I find that trashy and in poor taste.

To each her own, she's getting attention that is for sure.  I didn't mind her craziness until whatever the hell that was she did on the Grammy's - whoever indulged that ridiculous display must have been out of their mind. It wasn't artsy, creative or remotely entertaining.

Interesting. I actually LIKE her lyrics. i'm sick of the poetic sappy stuff like taylor swift (Fairytale comes to mind) or the repetive stuff like Rihanna (that "we found love in a -------something----- place").

I may not always like the words she's saying but at least they say something rather than regurgitate every thign else I've heard. Other musicians who are talented writers are Toby Keith, Eminem, Florence, Adele.
