The challenge for this week is to start your own compost! If you already compost share tips!
I have a bowl for compost on my counter. When it's full my 5 year old takes it out to our compost pile (which is an old wire dog kennel stood up on end. We try to remember to put some water on it sometimes to keep it moist.
Oh but I want to try composting using worms! Maybe I will work on that this week :)
looking forward to some tips.
We use a small(2 gallon, I think) trash bin. It has a metal outer container with a lid and an inner plastic bucket that is removable. After dinner, each day, our son takes it out and empties it into our outdoor compost bin and then washes out the bucket for use the next day. We actually stopped composting a couple days ago because of our impending move and it feels so weird and wrong not doing it.
I was thinking of buying a large garbage can and using that. where should it be kept outside so it doesnt attract bugs, etc to my house?
Quoting chrissysnow22:We just started composting again and my kitchen smells horrible. What should I do?
