The first one, is an inverted French braid. I just learned this, though I have been French braiding for years. My hands were having a tough tine going backwards! Lol.

I used to do the first one a lot. My hair didn't have as much layers as it does now so that worked perfectly for braiding. Sometimes after braiding I would then put it in a low bun.
