I keep seeing them all over YouTube and I'm falling in love with them! But I want more reviews before I go and spend 16 dollars on one. Anyone else try them???

I own all but four or five colors. I even had the not yet released Power Plant (emerald green exclusive to Sephora) except TSA lost it when they searched my checked bag. -_- Annoyed since they also lost a bag filled with business contact cards.

Any way, I would never suggest Lip Tar to the every day person due to the fact these are VERY pigmented and can be tricky to use. Some people find Lip Tars to be drying however again due to the nature of these - these were created by David who uses them in print ads, commercials and movies/tv series. In fact Ve Neill used some Lip Tars in The Hunger Games and I think the MUA on set used Lip Tars again. The best thing about Lip Tars these were designed to be mixed with each other so if you can't find the right color then mix your own.

That said, if you do end up buying one I like mixing a wee bit of Lip Tar with a clear gloss for a more sheer application. If you use it straight from the tube use VERY little and layer it on to build up coverage - easier to add, harder to remove. Lip Tars also tend to be a wee bit staining on some types of lips so prep your lips first with a nice sugar exfoliation then apply a lip liner to outline your lips then fill with the liner then apply the Lip Tar. You can top with a clear gloss if you want.

Koren (EnKore Makeup) did a video a few years ago showing how to turn Lip Tars into balms and even DIY lipsticks.

If you like the color Andrea used in that video try Doe's Airborne Unicorn (Lime Crime).

Andrea used OCC Lip Tars in "Feathered" and "Hoochie" and her video does not do the colors justice at all but that's the nature of video editing and uploading because for whatever reason it always changes the colors slightly between on camera and real life.

Feathered on the left, Hoochie on the right.
