Ever have a old bill & it came back & bite you on the A$$?

So we moved & we transferred our lights/gas account to a new place & now we have an old lights/gas bill & showed its ugly face (over nearly $1K of a old bill!)
So bite our tongues & deal with it! ((sigh))

Yup. Water bill. Granted it wasn't over $1K but at the time it was still out of our budget.

No, but we did have our former gas company continue to charge us after we moved. We straightened it out though.

Yes!  When I was younger I lived with a boyfriend and he was abusive so I left.  I spoke to the landlord explaining why I was leaving and he said he understood and after we spoke I thought I was out of the lease since the boyfriend was staying.

Turns out that guy skipped out on rent and since my name was on the lease it was held over me and when my husband and I went to buy our first home we had to go to court about the past due rent.  The landlord was forgiving though and allowed me to just pay half of what was due and drop the charges against me.

I always wonder why they never tracked me down.

Yikes!  I've had that happen before too with old medical bills (that insurance should have taken care of but didn't).
