Do You Really Need A Specialized Moisturizer For Your Eyes?

It may so happen that you're looking into mirror and see an aging person staring at you. Although aging is part of human growth; but the crows' feet, dark circles, fine lines near the eyes really look terrible. Now the question arises, how these lines really do appear and what can be done to get rid of them.

Many of you walk through the beauty department to find a solution for these aging issues under eyes. The availability of many skincare products could land you in confusion. The eye care you need could be fulfilled with help of moisturizers, creams, gels and serums. All these cosmetic products help you look younger. These products have variant price rate ranging from $15 to more than $100.

Need for specialized moisturizer for your eyes:

According to most cosmetic companies the need for separate moisturizer arises as the skin around eyes is different than rest of face. The skin is much thinner; so it is more prone to get premature aging signs. The thinness makes the skin more delicate and vulnerable to allergic reactions on skin. The skin around the eyes also require greater workout. Every time we move our eyes including squinting, smiling or giving any other facial expressions; the muscle have great workout.

As we age, our skin is more prone to get dry quickly. This could lead to formation of small wrinkles and crow's feet. Other factors that encourage wrinkles include exposure to sunlight and smoking. Loss of collagen due to aging is one of another reason for the formation of under eye skin issues.

Due to fluid buildup the skin under eyes can lead to puffiness. The allergies, sinus problems can lead to puffy eyes. When the skin becomes thinner the underlying veins become more prominent. This can lead to visibility of dark circles under eyes. Other causes of dark circles include lack of sleep or due to heredity.

The skin under eyes does not contain oil glands which makes it dry. The reason for need of separate moisturizer is to retain smoothness and hydration for skin under eyes.

Now we'll examine the real need to have separate product for eyes and how eye creams help treating dark circles, puffiness, etc.

Overview on eye creams:

Do you know why the beauty experts promote use of eye creams? The eye creams are specifically designed for skin under eyes. They contain moisturizers and emollients which help hydration. This prevents the skin from drying thereby make it lot smoother. This works combat the wrinkles and fine lines near eyes. They also contain specialized ingredients which help boosting the production of collagen. This is a major protein present under skin.

Most commonly found ingredients in eye creams:

There are certain eye creams which consists of retinol that also increases the collagen production under skin. The presence of anti-oxidants like vitamin C, peptides also assist in retain the collagen count under skin.

Calendula is another ingredient which is effective to fight the under eye puffiness. These creams contain caffeine which reduces eye bags. They fight the dark circles by puffing up the skin temporarily. This makes the blood vessels underneath the skin seem less prevalent.

Advantages and disadvantages of eye creams:

If you're having oily skin; then consider using the eye gel. This is better than other moisturizer which could increase the oil production under skin.

Most experts recommend using the separate eye creams than the facial creams. These eye creams are formulated with emollients which swell the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. The eye creams tend to be thicker than the facial lotions and stay on the skin for longer duration. Apply the cream before using makeup so that the active ingredients get absorbed by your skin.

If you opt to an eye cream; don't expect cure. A recent study was conducted on 107 people who used different eye creams didn't get effective results. Another fact revealed that the cheaper and subtle eye creams performed well better than the expensive products.

According to another finding, the separate eye cream is not absolutely necessary. The facial moisturizer, eye creams have the same ingredients than the oily facial skin. An eye cream is required as the facial creams contain added sunscreen which can be too powerful for the delicate skin. Applying the facial cream causes stinging and burning.

Conclusion:

Consider using the eye creams which are much gentle than the facial moisturizers. This is the reason why you need separate eye cream for treating the skin issues under eyes. It is clear to go through the eye cream reviews before you choose one to treat the skin issues under eyes.
