Painting Rocks

Today we are making our own paint. Egg tempera. Then we are going to paint ruins on larger rocks. It's part of a four week Viking study.

Do you mean runes, as in rune stones? That sounds fun. When my dd was little we used lima beans to make runes. I think I got the idea out of the book 'Circle Round'. I hope your project was fun!

Interesting... I didn't know the Norse used egg tempra, too! That idea really went around the world!

We used to take watercolour paints camping, to paint on rocks and shells:

I don't think they did but it's easy to make.
