Do you do anything in honour of 'not back to school'?
A lot of families here meet on a local beach...
Every week is in honour of not back to school. Sometimes someone organizes a party but mostly we try and look for reasons to be happy we are homeschooling. Today has been an uneventful day as far as getting work done around the house. I did make a homemade chess demo board for a chess class that I am teaching. I played chess two times today with my boys. It was a lot of fun. My 9 year old checkmated me very badly. It is a good thing I don't have an ego. I think every school year our tradition is really different. This year our big tradation was going to the library and stocking up on books. We were in Montana all summer and were very remote. The first thing my boys asked to do was go to the library and stock up on books. We are planning a big field trip next Sunday but we are always doing that so I am not sure if that counts.
We met at the park with other home schooling families and had a pot luck lunch :)
