The primary mission of AID, Inc. is to assist the "working poor in becoming self sufficient." | Bismarck Emergency Food Pantry The Bismarck Emergency Food Pantry provides food baskets to individuals and families who are in an emergency situation. The food pantry is open 1 pm to 4 pm Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday every week. To receive food, clients must bring their social security card, photo id, and proof of current address/residence. | Community Action The seven Community Action Agencies in the state provide essential services to every region and all 53 counties. Community Action Agencies are governed by uniquely structured boards of directors whose members derive from diverse segments of the community-low-income, private, and public sectors. By combing resources-local, state, private and federal, agencies enable low-income people of ages to secure the opportunities they need to obtain and maintain self sufficiency. The Community Action Food Pantry provides food baskets to income qualified clients and families in need. Clients need to call the CAP office at 258-2240 to make an appointment. The following information needs to be provided: *Social Security Cards for all household members *Copy of photo ID *Income verification for all household members The Food Pantry is stocked primarily through donations. Food baskets are generally filled with enough food to last approximately 4 - 7 days, depending on the funding and donations received. The Commodities Program is available the first and third Thursdays every month, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Food Pantry and Bread Shelf at the Salvation Army provides food for healthy meals as well as diapers and personal care items for those in need.
