Feeling sorry for myself kind of day...*updated*

I recently went back to work more, to offset a paycut DH had to take when the hours shifted at his work. It wasn't a big deal and I don't mind at all. 

Yesterday was Valentine's day, and I worked, of course, because Valentine's day isn't really a big deal for us, but dh didn't do ANYTHING at all for me.  I had made him a card, online, and had it delivered, personalized and all that. I had present for the girls and all that, but I had to TELL him to have the kids make something for me. Just like I had to bake my own birthday cake. 

This morning, while cleaning, I found that it had been tossed aside and was under the couch.

I cleaned the house yesterday, straightened up, did laundry and swept, and made dinner before I went to work for 8 hours, only to come home and find it all pretty trashed again, dishes from dinner not done or even picked up, and I feel like no one appreciates me for all the crap I do and now I'm so far behind because I really didn't need to go and clean the whole house again today- I have court tomorrow for my other job that I do sporadically and I need to prepare.

Yes, I'm having a royal pity party here, but I'm tired. I have shopping trips to prepare for, dinner to make, bills to pay, I don't want to redo everything I just did yesterday. 

Court got postponed, again, so I wound up being just fine for time. Life is good!

wow i think you have a right to be upset...dh and i have been together 10 yrs and he has only gotten me singing animals(from the girls) i told him this yr not to bother getting me anything....have to told him how you felt?....hugs!...if it makes you feel better  think your awesome and love reading your posts all around cafemom

Oy. I'd be sending invitations to my pity party. I'm sorry Mama. Communication is a rough one. We are always working to get better at it in my relationship. I picked out my Christmas present and we did nothing on my birthday. I feel ya.

oh I'm sorry, dont feel bad we were supposed to go to dinner, I got all pretty and he walked in the door drunk, it was ordered pizza and him passed out and me watching tv by myself

I'm sorry, I know how that feels, I just picked up a second job and already have something similar going on, my kids are teens and we are going to have to rearrange chores and responsibilities so I'm not left with the extra work.

Yeah, I have. It's been like this for ages, though, and I don't know why it gets me so upset, randomly, not all the time.
