So I accidently might have saved a child's life Saturday
We took the boys to the water park Saturday. We were sitting on the steps watching them play in the tunnels and go down the slide when I heard a splash and saw these two little feet beside me. I quickly reached in the water and pulled a child out that was a little over a year old. He was coughing up water and scared but ok. So I am holding this little boy and waiting for someone to come over to us.....but no one does. I walk around with him in my arms for about 5 minutes until this guy climbs out of the deep end and takes him- then walks to his wife (who still hasn't noticed her son was gone) and gave him to her! It was amazing how many other kids I saw wandering around while the lifeguards looked for their parents. Actually a little girl (around 3) jumped in the 12 ft- lifeguard saved her and she was choking so bad that she threw up in the pool. After they cleared the water to clean up- a mother finally came and claimed her! We left after that. What is wrong with parents though? A public water-park or swimming pool is not a babysitter!
I let my kids swim and play and I try not to be a helicopter mom, but water will always scare me. My ex-husband's nephew died when he was 3 years old on mother's day in the family backyard pool :-( ... I found out I was pregnant with my son a less than 2 weeks later... Tristan's middle name Brandon was in his honor.
