Tourettes And Other Disorders

A lot of these are close to home for me, it's well worth the 45 minutes in helping people understand how it is for people to live with differences.

My own son has Tourettes, AS, and Muscular Dystrophy.  He goes to a private school and has friends, but he struggles so much socially, trying to find a job has been really tough. The hardest part for me is seeing how others treat him, I wish they could know what it is to be inside him for a day.

My son does not take medication for Tourettes, he already has fatigue from the MD and could not handle any more.  It was his choice after weighing the pros and cons and he decided to live with the tics.  He has vocal tics, head shaking and sometimes facial tics.  People who know and love him barely notice anymore, but people who don't can stare or make comments.
