PTSD

We are not easy to love, but we are worth loving; We are not easy to understand, but we are worth understanding; We are not easy to watch when in the grips of the beast, but please do not turn away. We "react" to sounds, sights and smells, when we should just "respond" to them; that is our training and that is what kept us alive. We do love you though the numbness of combat makes it hard to show you; Love us anyway. We are injured; We are not "Crazy" We have been injured so deeply, it cannot be seen; But we hurt so much if you bother to look. We are your husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, but most of all we are your warriors, your heroes. We will never ask for it, but please help us, appreciate us, love us, and never forget us.
