What is your fondest memories of your dad?

My dad was literally a rocket scientist. He worked for a company that had NASA contacts, he designed abuilt propulsion systems for rockets and stuff, inluding the landing system on the the first craft to land on Mars! That was the Viking mission. He also worked on things for the space shuttle and other cool stuff. Sometimes he would bring home photos and even samples of some materials they used on space crafts, I loved that. I rememer one of him in a rocket engine, and he looked 3" tall in it. it was HUGE!
Anyway, I loved when he'd take us out at night with the telescope and we'd look at all the stars and planets and he'd teach us the constellations. We lived in the mountains, so there wasn't light polution and we could really see so many stars.
I love that he's done that with my kids too. I love my daddy.
Father
Or if I bumped my head,.
When I was afraid of the dark,
Or that thing under my bed,
When I cried in the night,
Or even in the day,.
You were there for me,
To make it all okay.
You tickled my feet,
And laughed at all my jokes.
You taught me to believe,
In having high hopes.
You are my father
You did what you had to do.
But more than a father
You are my friend too.
You made everything good,
That was once bad.
I just want you to know
I love you dad
That's what dad's were for weren't they? Fix it uppers? I thought so!
Quoting idee:One time I was inthe front seat with my dad and I was messing with the door. It opened and I jumped toward my Dad and he closed the door. I always looked at it like my Dad could fix anything after that.
M dad would have loved Disneyland
Quoting hugss:Um .. guess when we all went to Disneyland,
Fun question :)
I bet that thrilled you to be able to toot that horn!
Quoting CoeyG:One was that I always stole his beer when he'd get up to the bathroom. I also remember being in the cab of the train (he was an engineer) and getting to toot the horn as well as be in control and I was all of four years old
What a great man to share all that knowledge down to his kids and grand kids! Truly a blessing!
