So today was a very important day to me. I decided to get a tubal ligation (fancy wording for tubes tide). It was a 4 hour process including counceling. I woke my husband up early so that he can take a shower. When he finally got out 40 minutes later (my appointment was at 9:20 he was out at 8:45) i was literally freaking out, i swear i thought he was trying to sabatoge me getting the surgery. So as i get out of the shower, rushing to get dressed my mom enters the room because she was going to babysit by 4 children, she says to me "why are you leaving so early?" I was confused "no mom we are so late." She turned to the clock and points "no! Its barely 8!" IMAGINE. I was releaved and furious all at once. But anyways yes i got the procedure done and now i look forward to raising my 4 childern, experiencing motherhood to its fullest. With every bump bruse laugh joy tear....new me no more new kids....

Glad you'll be able to relax now and enjoy your children and every aspect of their lives. They grow way too fast!

Hi Jemuck, good for you. I wish you a speedy recovery. But, by the same token it really amazes me when men want the woman to do everything. I was fortunate, as I too had decided on getting my tubes tied when my fourth baby was born, however, due to being anemic at that time the anesthesist refused to do it and I would have needed to undergo surgery in order to get it done later.

My doctor, was a good friend and she approached my ex-husband and told him that my body had been through enough and it was his turn now. Luckily, he finally agreed. I think if the tubes can be tied when you are still in hospital then its okay, otherwise, the men need to do it. What do you think?

Yes i totally agree. It was a choice that i made to get the procedure done. I wanted to be sure that I was never going to have any more kids. My husband originaly was going to get a vasectomy but he works moving around and he would have needed to get days off for recovery, which in this economy, is impossible for us at the moment. Yes it isnt something that my husband nor i entered into lightly. We had many conversations and when it came down to it, it was my choice. :)
