Why do you live where you live?

Because I got a job offer at the University of UVa Medical Center Medical Intensive Care Unit, followed by my husband. Needless to say 14 years later, things never went right for us down here except my dd had the opportunity to go to UVa and my gradkids. We often talk about moving back home.
Certainly makes sense. Do you think you will return to California?
Quoting hugss:Because dh had a work opportunity years ago & of course I said yes,
So here we are almost 20 years later in this state :)

So, once he is done with college, do you know where you want to live?

Butterfly...sounds reasonable. Hope your certification will take you where you want to live!

Sad?? Maybe because you are not enjoying the "good parts" of where you live, but focusing too much on your future plans. Curious about "always dragged back here or people wouldn't let me leave".
Have you ever lived in Hawaii or Arizona? I know living in Hawaii is VERY expensive. Mainly since most products have to be imported to the island. A woman I work with lived there and talks about going back, but only with a better job. I lived in Arizona some years ago. Also not cheap.
Quoting Esmrlda:I honestly dont like where I live in (Ca) and have tried to move several times to Hawaii and Arizona but was always dragged back here or people wouldnt let me leave. Now dh and I bought a house so I am stuck here for a while longer. But I always have plans on the back burner to move but I am thinking I'm getting to old to start over. So now I am working towards retirement so I want to make as much money as I can as fast as I can so I can retire and enjoy it. Sad huh to have to live somewhere that I dont like.

mamadrama....WOW...lucky you! Sounds like you have roots there.

And all of your posts reflect that kiweerose. Good for you!! Very nice to have such a blessing.
Quoting kiweerose:we love our sf bay area and our weather.

From Florida to Michigan is quite a change; not just in weather but also culture. What keeps you there?
Quoting bookworm14:My dad grew up in this town. When my grandma had a stroke 25 years ago, he moved us to Michigan to help take care of her. We were living in FL at that time.
