to go faster than the speed limit ?   I always drive at the posted speed limit on this road that states 35 mph. Sometimes I go 36, 37. There was this car that was behind me as I was driving at 35 , I kind of knew it would pass me. I upped my speed to 40 thinking the driver would be happy . Nope he passed me at 45 and going to 50 and back into my lane ahead of me....still going at 45 plus. Isn't going at 35 fast enough?

Quoting offrdngal:

I do admit that I drive fast. I don't drive over the speed limit in residential areas/school zones. I have seen the drivers go faster in residential / school zones. If a person in front of me is doing the speed limit, I don't have an issue. me either However, if the person in front of me is going under the speed limit or not maintaining a constant speed, it pisses me off. Constantly speeding up and slowing down will cause me to tailgate. It isn't hard to maintain a constant speed and look at the speedometer once in a while. yep on that one

Quoting nowynd:

Evidently not for some folks.  I get them riding my tail all of the time in this city!  As long as it is safe for me, I pull over and let them go on by, then I get back on the road.  I do this when walking too.  Since I don't walk as fast as some folks, they will almost clip my heels.  So, I step to the side and let them pass!  I do this several times a day when walking down the halls of the hospital.

oh yes they can pass me anytime....and they do at 50 and continue at 50 all the way down and disappear.
