Are your family’s finances better off than they were 3 years ago?
How would you describe your family’s financial situation right now?
Has it gotten better or worse in the past three years?
Better.
A poll would be interesting to add and see.
That is a big part of it for us as well. We ended up trading in my beloved Yukon for a commuter car (albeit a nice one but still a small car) because it was cheaper to get a lease then to continue to pay over $400 a month in gas.
Quoting TruthSeeker.:Worse.
We can't seem to make our dollars stretch as far as we once could. Food costs are higher, gas is higher, etc.
Better, much better. Over the past 3 years we have paid off hospital bills, rebuilt our savings, and are living comfortably instead of living paycheck to paycheck.
Our situation is both: worst--I have no job so we are living on one income, I've only had two interview this yr and one last yr even after submitting hundreds of resumes, cut back on all non-necessity expenses
better-I was able to pay off most of my debts and we were able to buy a new home last year
I would say looking at the whole picture we are slightly worse but my husband says we are doing about the same.
