Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said he is so confident that Democrats will not support President Obama's budget, he plans to introduce the bill himself.
With Obama set to release his 2013 budget Monday, the Kentucky Republican said he will do the same thing he did last year when the Senate was trying to pass a budget.
"I offered President Obama's budget, since the Democrats didn't seem to want to develop their own budget and didn't want to vote for his. His budget was defeated 97 to nothing," McConnell said on CBS's "Face the Nation."
Republicans have repeatedly attacked Senate Democrats for failing to produce a budget.
"Senate Democrats haven't passed a budget in a thousand days, even though the law requires it," said McConnell.
In theory Congress passes a budget every year, but a divided legislative branch often means that Congress will instead pass temporary funding bills.
Both parties avoided a government shutdown in December by passing an omnibus spending bill for 2012.
the budget came out and the GOP said it would fail within 16 minutes. I am not surprised, they want it to fail, they want the President to fail, that is their only goal. Do nothing congress as usual.
The senate is controlled by the Democrats. Of course the Republicans are going to disagree with Obama's budget, but the bigger question is why can't the president write a budget that his own party at least can get behind?
Because the Organizer in Chief is incompetent? He's inexperienced and arrogant.

Well, I'd love to see Obama and the Dems pass a budget. I want the American people to see if they can be fiscally sharp and smart now.
What does that even mean?
Do you have this image that the average American is fiscally stupid?

They as in Obama and the Dems:

Oh, and I don't think Americans as a whole are fiscally stupid, but a great many of us have made poor fiscal choices. Every day can be the turning point; though.
Time to choose which path to take. I echo the sentiments of Thomas Jefferson when I say that we should not be burdening future generations with debt. We need to start now to change the direction that we are going, fiscally, as a country. Batter up, Obama and Dems, show us what ya got!
