Fox Host Eric Bolling To Rep. Maxine Waters: ‘Step Away From The Crack Pipe’

Fox News host Eric Bolling — who is fond of discussing President Obama’s penchant for “chugging 40′s” and inviting “hoodlum[s] in hizzouse” and the “crib” — told Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) this morning that she should “step away from the crack pipe.” While discussing Waters tough rhetoric about bankers, Bolling, without any apparent relevancy aside from the fact they are both African-American women, offered some friendly advice: “Congresswoman, you saw what happened to Whitney Houston. Step away from the crack pipe.” Watch it :

Bolling immediately walked back the comments after the commercial break, saying, “I was kidding.” He notably did not apologize, though even his co-hosts appeared very uncomfortable when he first made remark. “Oh man! Theater in morning!” and “oy,” they responded. “How else do you explain those comments?” Bolling defended himself.

Well, she should apologize for some of the things she has said, as well.

While I agree calling them demons is over the top but so is the crack pipe comment. Why fight fire with fire?

Eric Bolling's "Crack Pipe" Comment About Rep. Waters Just The Latest Example Of His Racially Charged Rhetoric

February 16, 2012 9:24 am ET by Eric Schroeck

On the February 16 edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends, Eric Bolling responded to Rep. Maxine Waters' (D-CA) recent comment that House Republican leaders are "demons" by saying in part that Waters should "step away from the crack pipe":

BOLLING: What is going on in California? How's this? Congresswoman, you saw what happened to Whitney Houston. Step away from the crack pipe. Step away from the Xanax. Step away from the Lorazepam. Because it's going to get you in trouble. How else do you explain those kinds of comments?

Bolling's comment drew some shock from co-hosts Steve Doocy and Juliet Huddy, and after a commercial break, Bolling said that he was "kidding about the crack pipe, but obviously the rhetoric, you know."

Watch:

This is not the first time Bolling has used racially charged rhetoric on Fox. Last June, on his Fox Business show, Bolling teased a segment about the White House hosting the president of Gabon bysaying, "Guess who's coming to dinner? A dictator. Mr. Obama shares a laugh with one of Africa's kleptocrats. It's not the first time he's had a hoodlum in the hizzouse." He began the segment itself by saying, in part, "So what's with all the hoods in the hizzy?" He later issued a brief -- and dishonest -- apology for the segment.

In May 2011, Bolling claimed Obama was "chugging a few 40s" instead of responding to devastating tornadoes in Joplin, Missouri. Bolling later tried to walk back his "chugging 40s" comment by pretending that he hadn't engaged in racially charged rhetoric and asserting that he "took some heat for saying Obama should have delayed his European bar crawl."

You GOTTA admit, this woman is a true blue NUT.  Pretty mean and disgusting one too.

As far as mentioning a crack pipe?  There is no racism in there. PERIOD

Both comments are uncalled for and makes them both look very immature.  But they both made bad comments so why is Bolling the only one under fire?

While neither comment is acceptable, one is a commentator that is privately employed and one is a public servant.  I have a higher standard for those that are put into office by those that they are supposed to represent.  And since she is voted in over and over again, I am getting a clear view of who she represents.  Frightening for our country's future, IMO.

There's no racism in there?  Hmm...Then why did he use "crack pipe" instead of, say...telling her to get off meth?  Or that she is a good example of why cousins shouldn't marry?  Or to put down the moonshine?  Or any one of a dozen other insults that he could have used?  Why *specifically* was it crack?

Seems to me we should be holding both positions to a high standard. On Maxine Waters do you think she is voted in time and time again because there is no one better? I know that is very pessimistic of me but think about it. If no one better challenges her then...

I never voted for this woman. She doesn't represent me. Also let's not forget that one person doesn't speak for the entire party.

On a side note makes me want to vote on the Fox news commentators.

I'm missing something here.  I'll admit, I am rather ignorant about drug usage.  But is crack use something only blacks do?
