THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for explaining this!
As for the OP, people like you are why I had to change affiliations from being a Republican. I still believe in the very basic principles of small government, states' rights, etc, but I can NOT get on board with this conspiracy theory, radical horseshit. Barack Obama is as American as you are. You should be ashamed of yourself for posting and believing this kind of nonsense.
Oh really! I would be ashamed to have 1 of these individuals as a friend or an associate. Barack Obama has a litany of shady characters in his life since childhood. Unfortunately, some choose to ignore this reality for various reasons.

Barack Obama has styled himself a centrist, but does his record support that claim?
In this series — written during the 2008 campaign — we examine then-Senator Obama's past, his voting record and the people who've served as his advisers and mentors over the years. We show how the facts of Obama's actions and associations reveal a far more left-leaning tilt to his background — and to his politics.Obama's voting record, going back to his days in the Illinois statehouse, says yes. His career path - and those who guided it - leads to the same unsettling conclusion.
The seeds of his far-left ideology were planted in his formative years as a teenager in Hawaii - and they were far more radical than any biography or profile in the media has portrayed.
A careful reading of Obama's first memoir, "Dreams From My Father," reveals that his childhood mentor up to age 18 - a man he cryptically refers to as "Frank" - was none other than the late communist Frank Marshall Davis, who fled Chicago after the FBI and Congress opened investigations into his "subversive," "un-American activities."
As Obama was preparing to head off to college, he sat at Davis' feet in his Waikiki bungalow for nightly bull sessions. Davis plied his impressionable guest with liberal doses of whiskey and advice, including: Never trust the white establishment.
"They'll train you so good," he said, "you'll start believing what they tell you about equal opportunity and the American way and all that sh**."

Do yourselves a favor.
Go to Google and click on "images". Then type in "Obama press conference". You will see all manner of still shots of him at press conferences, some with flags, some without, some with the yellow curtain, some without.
Now Google "Bush press conference". Guess what you'll see?
Some with flags, some without, and the yellow curtains.
Everyone can now remove their tin foil hats. :-)
I was being a smartass, like you were doing in your comment! ;-)

Don't flatter yourself. You made a comment on an open Internet forum and I disagreed. That's what happens when you post online. I'm not trying to change your view, I just find it interesting that you modified my response to make it look as though I agreed with you. Now that's pathetic!
You have a great day too, cupcake!

I personally would want a White American man as our leader. I want tradition brought back to our white house. Not a woman in office and no other race. That is my personal thought on the matter.
Well, everyone knows that women and other races are just intellectually inferior to the White American Man.
Unbelievable.
Sure you were.

*eye roll
That was quite a stretch. Your attempt to demonize me was a big FAIL. It does NOT represent our troops. You should open a book sometime.
Here's the significance:
(wisegeek)
In the United States, a yellow ribbon is used as a symbol of solidarity with someone who is far from home, and an expression of hope that he or she will return safely and soon. Numerous unrelated causes have adopted the yellow ribbon as a symbol, somewhat blurring the symbolism of the yellow ribbon, but after the deployment of American troops to the Middle East in 2001, most Americans came to associate the yellow ribbon specifically with active duty members of the military, and supporting American troops.
The history of the yellow ribbon is ancient. Several folktales and songs from England document the wearing of yellow ribbons by young women waiting for their lovers to come home, and the association of a yellowribbon with waiting for a loved one appears to have been carried to North America with colonists. Several Civil War folksongs referenced the tradition, and a popular marching song from the First World War, “She Wore a Yellow Ribbon,” included a yellow ribbon as a prominent symbol of a waiting lover at home.
In the 1970s, the popular song “Tie a Yellow Ribbon” was released, and a great deal of folklore arose around the circumstances of the song. According to legend, the song was inspired by a prisoner who wrote his wife shortly before his release, expressing a desire to reunite and saying that if she wanted to see him again, she should tie a yellow ribbon to a prominent tree along the road. If he saw the ribbon from the prison bus, he would know that he was welcomed home, but if he didn't, he would know that his wife had moved on, and he would keep going.
This sort appears to be apocryphal, and it is more likely that the song was inspired by older folk songs which included yellow ribbons in their imagery. However, the concept stuck in the public mind, and in 1979, Americans began to display yellow ribbons in solidarity with the captives involved in the Iran Hostage Crisis. The ribbon began a potent and familiar symbol, and it was adopted again in the First Gulf War by parents and friends who were anxious to see the return of their loved ones in the military.
After the deployment of American troops to Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003, an explosion of magnetic yellow ribbons appeared on American cars large and small. These ribbons often included a legend reading “support our troops,” and some integrated a version of the American flag. Some organizations dedicated funds from the sales of these ribbons to supporting military causes, while others sold them primarily for profit, recognizing that many Americans wanted to express solidarity with service members in a highly visual way.
Quoting aviatioNation:
Yellow is the color that represents American troops. Are you saying that American troops and those who support them are cowards?
Quoting imamomzilla:
Yellow is a good choice of colors....for a coward.
"The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so". ~Ronald Reagan
Try to ignore the noise and definitely get into the real issues. That will keep this sort of thing from overtaking the group.
