Pema, I don't dislike you...please get that out of your head. It isn't personal, it's politics...

When I see someone getting sh*t on, I react....and for whatever reason my Christian friends get sh*t on allot in this group. It's a knee -jerk protective reaction... I'm loyal to a fault, but I would do the same for anyone else....including YOU!

We all can come off that way. Especially myself. I have shared wonderful moments speaking with Ima in the past. Some even brought me to (happy) tears. For some reason our truces never last more than 48 hrs.

Quoting imamomzilla:

Thanks. That was kind of you to say. ...one of the reasons I like you, blue.

Zilla can come off a bit harsh and opinionated sometimes, but she can also be very sweet.  Give her a chance.

I can assure you I am very attuned to the dynamics of this group.

Quoting bluerooffarm:

Yeah, it does a bit.  Also, I think people need to get their feet wet a bit in this board before they actually know all the ins and outs.  I always feel that once the member status gets to bronze, they are fair game.  But I try to be polite to everyone.  I hate the snark, but at this point, I ignore it.

Quoting Jambo4:

Does that happen?  I must overlook those posts.  I do admit I got on one newbie because she was just so ridiculous.  I told her to go back to whatever elementary group she came from.. but it was only after Friday told her she was making herself look bad.

Quoting imamomzilla:

I agree! That goes for people who might say some harsh, possibly offensive things. The ganging up on newbies needs to stop.

Quoting Pema_Jampa:

It doesn't really matter who is more in here. We should all be able to voice our opinions. If you need an all democrat or all republican group those exist.

The problem is not that you are loyal to your friends. I am glad that you girls stick together. I don't work the same way. If one of my "friends" says something like what was said I am going to tell them they are wrong. If that breaks up our friendship so be it. I don't have a lot of female friends IRL. I have been told I am too blunt and honest for my own good.

I did tear up the other day when you made the thread just for me. It was the nicest thing done on here for me. Guess that is dumb and laughable...whatever.

I don't know about you but I will continue to try to be civil and understanding. being able to discuss with everyone is important to me and IMO to the entire group as a whole.

The group is as good as the people in it.

I've unblocked a bunch of you cause well life is too short and I want to be open to discussing things further if there is ever a need.

This is the last truce I am calling. I don't want to ever have to call another. I know we all are moms and can relate to one another and are dealing with the same issues.

So according to your world view you either stand with the Republicans or you must be a Democrat or even a ”commie” How insightful! Really shows your intellectual capabilities.

Quoting imamomzilla:

 Van Jones, is that you?

You just described a liberal, BTW. It's OK.

Quoting 1bluediamond:

Stop deflecting. Your comments indicate a Republican who is unable to think critically or respond rationally.

Quoting imamomzilla:

I think we found one of the Commies........

Quoting 1bluediamond:

You are Fox News parrot who defines an open mind as one who defends an open racist.

Quoting imamomzilla:

 I didn't see Indie...so I voted Libertarian...with a Constit. twist. ;-)

Wow 20% 28% are COMMUNISTS?

I actually think she made a very wise comment.  She's right about that.

There are those here who will be offended by your suggestion that they go to another more congruent group- get ready for the snarky comments-

When I got here it was quite peaceful....then a few decided to turn this into CE&HT II. *ugh.

Quoting imamomzilla:

OK...we may have an issue. This was brought up earlier, that you need not be a member to reply here.....I take it the same hold true for voting on polls.

So, could that skew the results, IDK?

Well, so far the respondents have been members, but I don't really know about the people who voted.  I think it's still a small percentage of lurkers, trolls, whatever that aren't associated with the group that just stop by and decide not to join.  That is probably the case about the woman you were talking about earlier.  I know if I had been as slammed when I first showed up, I would not have stayed.

We started out Democrat when first married since the party seem more like Republicans are/were.  We switched to Republican because they then aligned with our views.  Now, even they aren't the same as they used to be, either, so we've tended to lean more Conservative.

Quoting cbk_mom3:

I'm sure many in here would be shocked to know I started out a Democrat, and fairly liberal on many things. But, once I married my west Texas cowboy, and became a member of one of the largest Republican contributing parties in the state of Texas, I took a 2nd look at Conservs. Realized I more identified with them, switched, and never looked back.....except to tell all the minions "I told you so." Been doing that a lot more lately.....

Quoting imamomzilla:

Yep. Good ol' hard work. It's a shame we have a prez who just wants to hand out goodies to people who can't grasp that concept.

Quoting Sisteract:

Quoting imamomzilla:

Is that when you became independently wealthy?

Now, everyone on that side is GREEDY!, right?

Quoting Sisteract:

OMFG- Now some are going to assign others a party.

I'm sure many would be shocked that from ages  18-45, I was a Republican and fairly conservative-

LOL- I wish. Just hard, hard work- I know it's a foreign idea for some-
