Why Does Anyone Hope Our Pres. Will Fail?

Posted by   + Show Post

I see post after post on here where people seem only too happy to report any failure of our President.  People actually seem happy with any mistakes that he makes.  Some of the same people talk about how much they love their countries.

If this is how you feel, please explain. I never understood this mindset.  When George W. Bush was determined the winner of the 2000 election, I was concerned about his ability to govern and sorry he had won, though I wasn't a big fan of Gore either.  But, I did hope he would prove me wrong and do very well as President.  It only benefits me for our President to do a great job.  So I was disappointed, but I can't say I crowed over his every failure and rejoiced in them.  I just had a sinking feeling about what was happening to our country, and felt very frustrated with other branches of govt. for not holding him accountable for some of his decisions.

Not all change is good.Thats the point we do not like his ideals..we STRONGLY do not like them. Why sit here and try to explain the same thing over and again? You ladies who love Obamas ideals and are very supportive are not going to listen and deffinitely not agree anyway...

I think is is a sad state of affairs that we have allowed ourselves as a country to become to polarized and divided to the point where we can no longer stand behind our President. At no time in History can I remember when the other side launched such a full on attack of a president from the get go and seem to make it their mission to set people fear in motion and never let up.

I do did not care much for President Bush Inparticular after his 1st term in office but I never felt the need to run him down at ever chance I got, like I have had certain friend who listens to Fox News and Right Radio talk hosts ( not as much as her husband bless he heart) do at very turn. To the  point when I said you know what I Dislike all politicians at this point I feel none of them are doing their jobs and I don't want to talk about it anymore.WA makes me disapointed a lot.

I honestly do not get why so many allow themselves to be lead by fear and only want to see the worst I guess it is because it has  been fed to them though various sources for the past 4 years that the old saying is true "If you say it over and over it somehow will become the truth" and while this I am sure not true of Many I know it is true for some.  I am tired of having the same conversations that have nothing to do with the job the President is doing and having to point out that if you want the truth you have to expand you knowledge behind talk radio and FOX and other Media or Blogs. As the Xfiles use to say "The Truth is out there" and it is never black and white but many shades of gray too.

The truth being we are very much a country divided at this point in time I feel and this make me very sad.  I have no fear of my rights being trampled on that My gune\s will be taken away, that our Country will fail because of the current President Polocies no more then it did with the past.

I believe that most of Americans know how lucky we are to live in a country that IS Free, look  at Europe, and other countries we are probalby the only country that is crawling out of the ecomonic crisis be it slowly. We pay less in taxes personally then any other country in the world and yet we complain. Our Gas is less then any other place (other countries may far more in gas taxes) and yet we complain.

But I do hate the way Politians cannot seem to find common ground and treat each other as enemy in which I feel is very Strong Word, feeling and best left for true enemies of our country NOT Each other.  They spend more time running for their jobs then they do, working at their JOBS.  I am tired of the world Liar this is so not need as a Child I was taught to respect others opions, and if I had ever used the word Liar I would of had the sass smacked out of my mouth. Leaders should do better.

I see no Proof that what our current presdient has done has had any effect that will destroy American,  if people cared to look at the real reports and proof.

I have a home, I pay my bills, my husband had stable job, and many are being put back to work. I don't know what People exspected to happen in such a short time, but It really would not have matter Who was president and maybe things could of been worse.  We are out of one war, we are in line to get out of the other war, manufacturing is up, some businesses are bringing jobs back to America, and each month we are seing job growth what more do people want?

We have so little to Bitch about in this country and yet so many choose to do nothing but. I believe in Amercia no matter what and I intend to hold all of Washington responsible for what is going on.

I don't love all his ideals. This post I think was really just about those who cannot even be happy when something good happens with the President. Disliking a person's ideals is no reason to wish them ill, or being  disrespectful towards them.

Exactly. Even lefties and independents have voiced opposition to policies he's backed or compromises he's made. Taken one at a time or even as a whole, talk about that all day long. Thats one of the great things about this country. Turning our leaders into bogeymen who are out to get us stops reasonable debate on the issues and ramps up the team mentality to the point where nothing gets accomplished but the mud slinging

I certainly don't wish any president to fail.  I don't agree with all his policies and probably never will agree 100% with a president of any party, but I still support him as our leader.  With that said though I feel there are extremes on both sides (not just with Obama but with all presidents).  There are those that support Obama so strongly they can't admit that maybe some things he's done haven't been the greatest and maybe some things he's said have been wrong.    Every move he makes they seem to be mesmerized with and even with Michelle.  It's like they are starstruck.

I think part of it is thinly veiled racism.  All the crap about being a Kenyan national and a Muslim.  Even if he was Muslim who cares???? I think another facet is this fear mongering of him being some sort of radical socialist even though he is more middle of the road than Clinton was.

Why would I want him to fail?  As long as I help him, he'll help me.  I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car or paying my mortgage and if I fall behind on my bills, I can just go and get some Obama money.

nobody expects that from the President....any President. Unless you have something real and logical and appropriate to contribute, then please refrain from posting replies.

Why do people take this so personally?
It's not like they (sometimes me) want him to fail at life, or as a husband, or father. We disagree with his agenda, and would therefor not like to see him be successful at it.

Obviously, you didn't get the reference to that's how some Obama voters view him.  In 2008 a young woman said as long as she helps him, she wouldn't have to worry about gas or her mortgage.  In 2009 one woman didn't know where the money she was getting came from...she claimed it was Obama money.

Good point !

Quoting asfriend:

It is very simple. He ran on transformationally changing my country. I love my country. I do not want it transformationally changed. Therefore I hope he fails at that. Simple yes?

If your man came home and said "I love you honey, but I wish to transformationally change you, your response would be what?
